About Basic Life Training

By the end of the BLS training course, participants will:
- Understand the safe steps to take when responding to a medical emergency, including the importance of conducting primary and secondary surveys.
- Be able to recognize and respond to choking and severe breathing difficulties, including conditions such as anaphylaxis or cardiac arrest.
- Know how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Understand how to place someone in the recovery position.
- Comprehend the role of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), including how to locate and use one.
- Be aware of the adaptations required for paediatric and infant basic life support.
PMVA stands for Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression. It's typically required by those working in Healthcare although it's also a valuable training in other sectors. First, candidates complete a short theory Elearning module to gain foundational knowledge. Then, they attend a 3-day practical course to expand their understanding of primary, secondary, and tertiary strategies in dealing with challenging behavior.

There are no specific requirements for you to attend our PMVA training course. It is however expected that you are working or will work in healthcare, security or related roles that require the knowledge that PMVA offers.
